What chain pharmacies never explain.
Psyllium is a soluble dietary fiber derived from the husk of Plantago ovata seeds. When mixed with water, psyllium absorbs liquid and forms a thick gel like mass in the intestines. That gel does three clinically valuable things simultaneously.
For constipation: the gel adds bulk and moisture to stool, making it softer and easier to pass. Gentle, predictable, no cramping. For diarrhea: the same gel absorbs excess intestinal water, adding structure to loose stool and slowing transit. This is the counterintuitive power of psyllium. It normalizes stool consistency in both directions, making it the only laxative class product that patients with irregular bowel habits can take daily with benefit either way.
For cholesterol: the FDA has approved a specific health claim for psyllium. Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 7 grams of soluble fiber per day from psyllium husk may reduce the risk of heart disease. The gel traps bile acids in the intestines. Bile acids are synthesized from cholesterol. The liver must use more cholesterol to replace the lost bile acids, lowering blood LDL.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in America. Many patients on statins could lower their LDL further with daily psyllium fiber. Very few know this.

Psyllium fiber is the supplement I recommend most consistently across all patient types, not because it's exciting but because it works at multiple levels simultaneously and is safe for essentially everyone. The cholesterol effect is real and clinically meaningful, 7 grams of soluble fiber daily can reduce LDL by 5 to 10 percent in consistent users. For statin users, that additional reduction matters. For IBS patients, whether they trend constipated or diarrheal, psyllium is the first recommendation before any prescription intervention.

Questions, answered.
Is this product third party tested?
Yes. Every product in the Fairview Wellness Essentials line meets at least one of these independent standards: USP Verified, NSF Certified, or ConsumerLab Tested. These organizations test for purity (no heavy metals or contaminants), potency (label dose matches contents), and dissolution (the tablet actually breaks down and absorbs). Third party verification is one of the three required tests every Wellness Essentials product must pass.
Will this interact with my prescription medications?
Many supplements interact with common prescriptions. Fish oil with warfarin can elevate bleeding risk. Vitamin K with warfarin destabilizes INR. Calcium with levothyroxine reduces thyroid absorption. Magnesium with bisphosphonates affects bone medication absorption. Before ordering, call the pharmacy for a free medication interaction review. Takes 10 minutes. Included with every order.
How soon will my order ship?
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from our pharmacy in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. You'll receive tracking once your package leaves the pharmacy. Free shipping on orders over $50. Kit purchases skip the $50 minimum and qualify for free shipping automatically.
What is your return policy?
30 day money back guarantee on unopened or opened products. If a supplement isn't working for you, return it for a full refund. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we'll make it right.
Can I use my FSA or HSA card?
Yes. Fairview Pharmacy accepts FSA and HSA cards for eligible products. Many vitamins and supplements qualify with a Letter of Medical Necessity from your physician. Contact us if you have questions about specific product eligibility.
