Can I take my tablet with coffee?
- No. Swallow a standard tablet whole with 6–8 ounces of plain water when you get up, before breakfast or other oral medicines.
When can I lie down?
- Stay sitting or standing for at least 30 minutes AND until after your first food of the day. Wait at least 30 minutes before food, other drinks or oral medicines.
What if I forget my weekly dose?
- Take it the morning after you remember, then return to your usual weekly day. Never take two doses in one day. For a missed daily dose, skip it and resume the next morning.
Does every formulation use the same instructions?
- No. Liquid doses need a water chaser; effervescent tablets must be dissolved, never swallowed whole. Have the pharmacist demonstrate your product. Do not copy tablet directions onto a different formulation. MedlinePlus
What should we check before treatment?
- Tell the pharmacist about trouble swallowing, esophagus problems, inability to remain upright, low calcium, kidney problems and planned dental procedures. Calcium and vitamin supplements belong later in the day, not alongside the morning dose. Keep your bone-health follow-ups. Tablet labeling
Which symptoms need attention?
- Stop taking it and contact the prescriber for painful swallowing, chest pain or new/worsening heartburn. Report jaw problems or new thigh/groin pain promptly. Tablet labeling
