Packaging is included at no charge for Hub City Family Plan members and for patients managing five or more chronic medications who transfer to Fairview. For patients with fewer medications, packaging costs $25 a month. Prescriptions are billed separately through insurance or paid out of pocket.

Blister Packs and Bubble Packs for Medication
A blister pack, often called a bubble pack, places medicine in sealed compartments. A pill pack or dose pack is a broader name for doses organized ahead of time. Some systems use cards with sealed cells; others use connected pouches. What matters to the patient is a clear label showing which dose belongs to which day and time. Fairview's pharmacy team confirms the format that fits your medication schedule at setup.
A pharmacy-prepared pack can reduce the work of sorting bottles at home. It is particularly useful for someone managing several chronic prescriptions, a caregiver helping a parent, or a person whose morning, noon, evening, and bedtime medicines differ. Patients managing five or more chronic medications who transfer to Fairview receive the packaging service free. Hub City Family Plan members receive it free at any medication count. Patients taking fewer medications pay $25 a month for packaging. Medication costs and insurance copays still apply.
Can I start with prescriptions from more than one pharmacy?
Yes. Tell Fairview which pharmacies you use and the team can coordinate the prescription transfer with you.
What happens if my medications change?
Tell the Fairview pharmacy team about any medication change. A pharmacist will review the update and explain when a revised pack can be prepared.
Can a caregiver help with my pill pack?
Yes. A caregiver can help coordinate your service after Fairview confirms the patient's consent and the details needed to discuss the prescriptions.
Will my doctor need to approve the schedule?
Fairview coordinates with your prescriber when instructions or a prescription change need clarification. The pharmacy team checks timing and other directions before preparing the pack.
Can vitamins and over-the-counter products go in the pack?
Tell our pharmacy team about everything you take. A pharmacist will review whether each vitamin, supplement, or over-the-counter medicine is appropriate for your pack and schedule.
What if my prescription changes mid-pack?
Contact Fairview before changing a prepared pack. The pharmacy team will review the new directions and explain how the next pack or an adjustment will be handled.
Can I cancel pill-pack service?
Yes. Tell Fairview if you want to stop packaging. The team will discuss how your medications will be dispensed afterward.
How do you handle controlled substances?
Schedule II controlled substances (oxycodone, Adderall) are dispensed in their own DEA compliant containers per federal regulation, not in the blister pack. Schedule III, IV, and V controlled substances can be included in the pack with proper labeling and your prescriber's authorization. We walk through this at setup so the workflow is clear.
Is a bubble pack the same as a blister pack?
Bubble pack commonly describes a blister card with sealed compartments. Pill pack and dose pack are broader terms for medicine organized by dose. Fairview staff can explain the format used for your prescriptions.
