What I got
- Arexvy, a one-time RSV vaccine.
- It protects against a serious lung virus.
- Not a yearly shot. One dose is my full course for now.
What to expect after
- Sore arm, tiredness, muscle aches are normal.
- Usually mild, gone within a day to three.
- A sign my immune system is responding.
Call my provider if
- Side effects last more than 3 or 4 days.
- Redness or swelling spreads, or the area is hot and hard.
- Fever above 103 degrees.
Get help right away if
- Throat tightening, hives, or trouble breathing.
- Severe dizziness soon after the shot.
- This is rare, but get emergency help.
Good to remember
- I can get it with my flu and COVID shots.
- For eligible adults, it is usually covered at no cost.
