My Breo dose and timeYour pharmacist or doctor fills this in.
This is my daily inhaler
- One inhalation, once a day, same time each day.
- It is NOT a rescue inhaler. It will not stop an attack.
- I keep my rescue inhaler (albuterol) with me always.
Using the Ellipta
- Do not shake it. Slide the cover until it clicks.
- Breathe out fully, then breathe in quick and deep.
- Hold breath about 5 seconds. Close the cover.
After every dose
- Rinse my mouth with water and spit it out.
- This prevents a mouth infection from the steroid.
If I miss a dose
- Take it the same day if I remember.
- A full day passed: just take the next scheduled dose.
- Never two in one day.
Call the doctor if
- White patches in my mouth or throat.
- Hoarse voice that does not settle.
- Fast or pounding heartbeat.
Good to remember
- Replace the inhaler at 6 weeks or when it reads zero.
- Reaching for my rescue inhaler often: tell my doctor.
