The rule I never break
- Never take Entresto with an ACE inhibitor.
- Lisinopril, enalapril, benazepril, ramipril, captopril.
- Keep at least 36 hours between them when switching.
Taking it right
- Twice a day, morning and evening.
- With or without food.
- No other ARB. Entresto already has valsartan.
If I miss a dose
- Take it when I remember, unless the next dose is close.
- If close, skip it. Never take two together.
- Missed several doses: call my prescriber.
Ask before taking
- Ibuprofen, naproxen, or other NSAID pain pills.
- Potassium supplements or salt substitutes.
- Any new medicine or supplement.
Call the doctor if
- New swelling, shortness of breath, or fast weight gain.
- Repeated dizziness, fainting, or low blood pressure.
- Less urination, weakness, or irregular heartbeat.
Emergency. Call 911
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Trouble breathing or swallowing.
- If pregnant: stop and call my prescriber immediately.
