Taking it right
- Once a day for 21 days, then 7 days off. That is one cycle.
- Capsules: take with food. Tablets: with or without food.
- Swallow whole. Same time each day on dosing days.
If I miss a dose or vomit
- Do not take an extra or replacement dose.
- Just take my next dose at its normal time.
- Never two at once.
Avoid
- Grapefruit, grapefruit juice, Seville oranges, pomelos.
- St. John's Wort.
Emergency. Go to the ER
- Fever of 100.4 or higher with chills or feeling unwell.
- When my counts are low, fever is urgent.
- New or worsening shortness of breath or cough.
Call my cancer team if
- Mouth sores that make eating hard.
- Unusual tiredness or breathlessness.
Good to remember
- Blood counts are checked before each cycle.
- Cost help is strong. Call Fairview before skipping a dose.
