Can I add ibuprofen or naproxen?
- Do not combine them on your own. Meloxicam is also an NSAID; combining these medicines increases harm without reliably improving pain relief.
Should I take it with food?
- Standard tablets may be taken with or without food. Food may help stomach upset, but does not prevent serious stomach bleeding.
Can I use it every day indefinitely?
- Use only your prescribed dose and duration. The goal is the lowest effective dose for the shortest needed time, with follow-up when treatment continues.
What if I miss a dose?
- Take it when remembered unless the next is almost due; then skip it. Do not double. Keep different strengths or formulations separate until the pharmacist confirms your directions. MedlinePlus
What should we check first?
- Mention ulcers, bleeding, heart disease, kidney disease, dehydration, high blood pressure, aspirin reactions and upcoming heart-bypass surgery. Blood thinners, aspirin, some antidepressants, diuretics and blood-pressure medicines need an interaction check. Do not stop prescribed low-dose aspirin yourself. - Avoid NSAIDs at 20 weeks of pregnancy or later unless specifically directed by your clinician. They can affect the baby's kidneys and amniotic fluid; risks also change later in pregnancy. FDA pregnancy warning
Which symptoms need urgent care?
- Stop and seek urgent help for black stools or vomiting blood. Chest pain, one-sided weakness, trouble speaking or severe breathing difficulty require emergency care. Report reduced urination, swelling or a new rash promptly. Meloxicam labeling
