My doseYour pharmacist or doctor fills this in.
Taking it right
- Once a week, same day each week, with or without food.
- Rotate injection sites: belly, thigh, or upper arm.
- Never mix with insulin in the same injection.
If I miss a dose
- Within 4 days: take it when I remember.
- More than 4 days: skip it.
- Keep at least 3 days between doses. Never double up.
Watch my glucose
- Low sugar risk is higher with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
- Birth-control pills may be less effective after starting and after each dose increase. Add a backup method for 4 weeks.
Call the doctor if
- Neck lump, lasting hoarseness, or trouble swallowing.
- Repeated vomiting, dizziness, or very little urine.
- New vision changes, or upper belly pain with fever.
Emergency. Go to the ER
- Severe steady belly pain that may travel to the back.
- Trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat.
- Severe low blood sugar with seizure or passing out.
Before surgery or anesthesia
- Tell every procedure team I use Mounjaro.
- Tell them the form I use and my last dose time.
- Follow their plan. Do not stop or restart on my own.
