Taking it right
- Twice a day, about 12 hours apart.
- Always with food. It reduces stomach upset.
- Swallow capsules whole. Do not chew or break them.
If I miss a dose
- Do not take an extra dose.
- Just take my next dose at its normal time, with food.
- Never two at once.
Managing diarrhea
- Common with Ofev. Take with food, drink fluids.
- Loperamide (Imodium) usually helps. Ask the pharmacist.
- Severe or lasting over a week: call my doctor.
Call the doctor if
- Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, severe tiredness.
- New high blood pressure.
- Unusual bruising or bleeding.
Emergency. Go to the ER
- Coughing up blood, or blood in my stool.
- Sudden chest pain, or one-sided weakness.
- Sudden severe belly pain.

- Tell my doctor before any surgery or dental work.
- Cost help is strong. Call Fairview before skipping doses.
