Taking it right
- One tablet, at about the same time each day.
- With or without food.
- Lowest dose that controls my symptoms is the goal.
If I have a uterus
- I must also take a progestogen with Premarin.
- Estrogen alone can harm the uterine lining.
- No second hormone prescribed? Call my doctor.
If I miss a dose
- Take it as soon as I remember.
- Almost time for the next one: skip it.
- Never two at once.
Call the doctor if
- Unexpected or heavy vaginal bleeding.
- A new breast lump or change.
- New or worsening migraines.
Emergency. Go to the ER
- Sudden chest pain or shortness of breath.
- Sudden swelling and pain in one leg.
- Sudden severe headache, vision change, or weakness.
Good to remember
- Tell my doctor if I take thyroid medicine.
- A generic is available. Call Fairview about cost.
