The morning routine
- Take it right after waking, on an empty stomach.
- Plain water only, no more than 4 ounces.
- Swallow whole. Then wait at least 30 minutes.
- No food, drinks, or other pills until the timer ends.
If I miss a dose
- Skip it. Resume the next morning.
- Never take two tablets in one day.
- If I vomit after a tablet, do not repeat it.
- Several missed doses: call before restarting.
Handling the tablets
- Do not split, crush, or chew.
- Keep them in the original bottle. No pill organizers.
- Use the exact strength and brand on my prescription.
Call the doctor if
- New or worsening vision changes.
- Repeated low glucose with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
- Vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, or very little urine.
- A neck lump, hoarseness, or trouble swallowing.
Emergency. Call 911
- Trouble breathing or face and throat swelling.
- Severe steady belly pain that may reach the back, with vomiting.
- Severe low blood sugar with seizure or fainting.
Before surgery
- Tell the team I take oral semaglutide.
- Tell them when my last tablet was taken.
- Follow their fasting plan.
