Taking it right
- Same time each day. Once or twice daily as prescribed.
- With or without food.
- It is ONE part of my treatment. I take my other HIV medicines too.
If I miss a dose
- Same day: take it when I remember.
- Close to the next dose: skip it.
- Never two at once. If twice daily, call Fairview if unsure.
Timing with vitamins
- Calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, antacids block it.
- My pill 2 hours before or 6 hours after them.
- A mineral supplement with food: fine to take together.
Tell the pharmacist
- Every medicine, vitamin, and antacid.
- No St. John's Wort.
Call the doctor if
- New low mood or anxiety.
- Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine.
- A new rash, especially with fever.
Good to remember
- Keep my whole regimen filled, not just this one.
- Never stop on my own. Cost help exists, call Fairview.
