Where does the blood draw happen?
In store at Fairview Pharmacy in Hattiesburg, or at a partner Quest Diagnostics location for members outside the Pine Belt. Both options are included in the membership; you choose at signup.
Is the membership covered by insurance or HSA/FSA?
Insurance does not typically reimburse direct to consumer biomarker testing, so the $349 is paid out of pocket. However the entire membership is HSA and FSA eligible because it includes diagnostic laboratory testing and clinical consultation. Most HSA plans process this automatically with our receipt.
What is the difference between this and a physical with my doctor?
A physical typically covers a smaller standard panel (10 to 15 markers) and the conversation focuses on diagnosis and prescription. The Fairview membership covers 80 plus markers and the conversation focuses on optimization and prevention. The two are complementary; we recommend keeping your annual physical and adding the membership for the deeper picture.
Can a pharmacist actually prescribe based on the results?
Pharmacists can prescribe limited categories of medication in Mississippi (immunizations, smoking cessation, certain travel medications, hormonal contraception). For anything outside that scope, we work directly with your physician to recommend changes, and we counsel on the medications you are already taking. If you need a new prescription based on the panel, we coordinate the request.
How is the supplement protocol different from a marketplace recommendation?
We do not sell the supplements we recommend. There is no incentive to recommend anything you do not need. The protocol is based on your numbers, evidence based literature, and your existing medications. You buy what we recommend wherever you want, including at Fairview if you choose.
When does the year start?
On the date of your first blood draw and consultation. Renewal pricing is locked at signup for the life of your membership as long as it remains continuous.
