What chain pharmacies never explain.
Both fluticasone (Flonase) and triamcinolone (Nasacort) are intranasal corticosteroids. Both work through the same mechanism. Both are considered gold-standard allergy treatments. The practical difference comes down to formulation.
Fluticasone contains alcohol as a preservative and has a mild scent. Most people don't notice. But for patients with sensitive nasal passages, those who've had nasal surgery, or those who simply find the scent irritating, triamcinolone is the better choice. It's scent-free and alcohol-free, making it gentler on inflamed nasal tissue.
At $19.05, nearly $10 less than the brand name Nasacort, this is the version your pharmacist would choose for a family member who finds fluticasone irritating.

I recommend triamcinolone when a patient comes back and says Flonase bothered their nose or had a smell they didn't like. Same class of corticosteroid, same clinical outcome. But the scent-free, alcohol-free formula is noticeably gentler. I also recommend it as the first-choice spray for patients who've had any nasal procedures. Same 1 to 2 week build-up period applies. Consistency is everything with nasal steroids.

Questions, answered.
How is this different from the brand name on the same shelf?
The generic products we carry contain the same FDA-approved active ingredient, in the same dosage form, at the same strength as the brand-name product. The FDA requires generic medicines to meet bioequivalence standards before approval. The main difference customers notice is the price, not the medicine.
How soon will my order ship?
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from our pharmacy in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. You will receive a tracking number once your package leaves the pharmacy. Free shipping on orders over $50.
What is your return policy if it doesn't work for me?
Unopened products in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. For safety reasons, opened medications are not returnable. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.
Can I take this with my prescription medications?
Some OTC products interact with common prescriptions. We strongly recommend a free pharmacist consultation before ordering if you take blood pressure medication, blood thinners, thyroid medication, antidepressants, or other prescriptions. Call 601-544-4871 or use the Ask the Pharmacist form on the site.
Is this safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Some OTC products are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before ordering, please request a free pharmacist consultation. A pharmacist can confirm whether this product is appropriate for your situation.
One product is good. The kit is the protocol.
Dr. Mike doesn't hand patients single products. He hands them protocols. The Complete Allergy Relief Kit is the full version of what most people need. And it skips the $50 minimum.
