Switching from CVS? We've helped hundreds of patients make the switch.

CVS is closing 900 stores nationwide and consolidating Caremark mail order. If your CVS location closed or your prescription got rerouted to mail order without your consent, you have options. We've absorbed many Hattiesburg CVS patients already.

Start your transfer

We call your current pharmacy and handle every step. Most generics fill same day.

Typical response: Same day during pharmacy hours

We need one or the other so we know who to call. If you have the phone, even better.

You can also tell us to transfer your entire profile and we'll pull everything.

Insurance information

Either upload a photo of your prescription card OR fill in the numbers below. Both work; pick whichever is easier. Skip the whole section if you don't have insurance.

Tap to take a photo with your phone, or upload an existing image. PNG, JPG, or HEIC. Must be readable.

Your information is kept private and secure, used only to serve your pharmacy needs. It goes directly to Fairview Pharmacy and is never shared.

The CVS Situation

CVS Health announced in 2024 that it would close approximately 900 stores by the end of 2026, on top of the 900 stores already closed since 2021. Many of those closures hit Mississippi communities, and the patients who used those locations are being redirected to mail order or distant alternative locations. If your local CVS closed or your refill is now coming from a CVS Caremark mail order facility you didn't choose, you have the legal right to fill at any in network pharmacy. Fairview is in network with Caremark and processes the same insurance.

How the CVS Transfer Works

Three steps. We do all three.

01

We call CVS.

Give us your name, date of birth, your CVS location, and the medication. We make the call. You don't have to navigate CVS's phone tree or explain anything.

02

We verify your insurance.

Your insurance information transfers with the prescription. Coverage continues without a gap. We run the claim against your plan and quote both cash and copay prices.

03

We fill same day.

Most generic medications fill same day. We text you the moment it's ready. Pickup at the counter or free Hattiesburg delivery, your choice.

First time CVS transfer?

Get a $10 OTC credit on your first transfer.

We know switching feels like work. We'll thank you for the trouble. $10 toward anything in the shop, applied automatically at first pickup or first online order.

“Every week, patients walk in saying their CVS prescription experience has gotten worse. Wait times. Mistakes. Counseling that feels rushed. We hear them. The whole point of an independent pharmacy is that you get the pharmacist on the phone and your medication on the same day. That is what we do.”

The Full Picture

How to transfer your prescription to Fairview Pharmacy. Four steps: call Fairview, have your information ready, share insurance if available, we handle the rest. What to have ready: prescription number, full name, date of birth, address, current pharmacy info, and insurance card if available.

CVS Transfer Questions

Things CVS patients ask us every week.

Will my CVS Caremark insurance still work at Fairview?

Yes. Fairview Pharmacy is in network with CVS Caremark and processes the same plan you used at CVS retail. Your prescriptions and copays carry over without a gap.

My local CVS closed. Where did my prescriptions go?

CVS typically routes prescriptions from a closed location to the nearest remaining CVS, which may be 30 to 60 minutes away, or to CVS Caremark mail order. You are not required to follow that routing. You have the legal right to transfer to any pharmacy you choose. Call us with your name and date of birth and we'll pull the prescription wherever it landed.

Will my CVS ExtraCare points or rewards transfer?

Those are CVS loyalty rewards and don't transfer to other pharmacies. What you do keep is your prescription refill history, your insurance information, your authorized refills, and your medication list. The reward program loss is real but it's a one time event compared to a better ongoing experience.

Does CVS make transferring difficult?

CVS is legally required to release your prescription information to a transferring pharmacy. Some patients report longer hold times when calling CVS directly to request a transfer. We handle the call on your behalf, which is the entire reason we built this transfer service.

What about my CVS HealthHUB services like immunizations and MTM?

Fairview offers the same and more, often without the wait. We do immunizations on a walk in basis, including flu, COVID, shingles, Tdap, and travel vaccines. Our MTM (Medication Therapy Management) consultations are unhurried because we're a single location pharmacy, not a HealthHUB on a queue clock.

Can I switch my pet's CVS prescription too?

Yes. CVS does not have a robust veterinary prescription program. We do. See our pet medications page for the full list of common vet meds we fill, typically at a fraction of what a vet clinic charges.

60 seconds. That's all we need from you.

Name, date of birth, CVS location, medication. We handle every call from there.
