Switching from Walgreens? Faster fills. Real pharmacist counseling. No queue.
Walgreens is closing 1,200 stores through 2027 and the locations that remain are managing longer queues with fewer pharmacists. If your wait time has crept up, your fill is delayed, or your Walgreens location is on the closure list, you have a better option in Hattiesburg.

The Walgreens Situation
Walgreens announced in 2024 a plan to close 1,200 stores nationwide over three years, citing reduced pharmacy reimbursement, theft, and shifting consumer behavior. Many remaining Walgreens locations have responded by trimming pharmacist hours and consolidating prescription queues, which lengthens wait times for the patients still using them. Fairview has the opposite operational model: one location, one pharmacist owner, no queue clock, no corporate metrics. If your Walgreens experience has gotten worse, that is not your imagination.
How the Walgreens Transfer Works
Three steps. We do all three.
We call Walgreens.
Give us your name, date of birth, your Walgreens location, and the medication. We make the call. You don't have to navigate Walgreens's phone tree or explain anything.
We verify your insurance.
Your insurance information transfers with the prescription. Coverage continues without a gap. We run the claim against your plan and quote both cash and copay prices.
We fill same day.
Most generic medications fill same day. We text you the moment it's ready. Pickup at the counter or free Hattiesburg delivery, your choice.

Get a $10 OTC credit on your first transfer.
We know switching feels like work. We'll thank you for the trouble. $10 toward anything in the shop, applied automatically at first pickup or first online order.
“Every week, patients walk in saying their Walgreens prescription experience has gotten worse. Wait times. Mistakes. Counseling that feels rushed. We hear them. The whole point of an independent pharmacy is that you get the pharmacist on the phone and your medication on the same day. That is what we do.”

Walgreens Transfer Questions
Things Walgreens patients ask us every week.
Will my Walgreens prescription history transfer?
Yes. We pull your full prescription profile, including refills remaining, refill dates, and your insurance information. Nothing about the transfer interrupts your therapy.
My Walgreens location is closing. Where will my prescriptions go automatically?
Walgreens typically routes prescriptions from a closing store to the nearest remaining Walgreens, which may not be convenient for you. You are not required to follow that routing. You can transfer to any pharmacy you choose. Call us with your name and date of birth and we'll handle the rest.
Does Walgreens require me to use Express Scripts mail order?
If your insurance plan has a mail order mandate or 90 day supply requirement, that comes from the PBM (Express Scripts, OptumRx), not from Walgreens. We work with the same PBMs and process the same 90 day supplies. In many cases our cash price on a 90 day supply is competitive with or lower than the mail order copay.
Why is Walgreens closing so many locations?
Walgreens has cited reduced PBM reimbursement, retail theft, and shifting customer behavior. The result for patients is longer wait times at the locations that remain, and uncertain access for patients whose stores closed. Independent pharmacies are not subject to the same corporate restructuring pressures because we are owned and operated by a pharmacist, not a public company.
Can I keep my Walgreens autofill schedule when I transfer?
Yes. We will set up text refill reminders that match your current schedule. If you want to consolidate multiple medications onto the same monthly refill date (medication synchronization), we can do that during the transfer at no charge.
What about my Walgreens Cash Rewards or myWalgreens membership?
Those are Walgreens loyalty programs and don't transfer. What carries over is your prescription history, insurance, and refill authorizations. We don't have a points based loyalty program because our model is to give you a lower price and a real pharmacist instead.
