What does it do?
Rosuvastatin lowers LDL cholesterol. It can also reduce heart-attack and stroke risk in eligible patients.
Must I take it at night?
No. Tablets can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, following your prescribed daily schedule.
Can I take an antacid with it?
Aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids should be taken at least two hours after rosuvastatin.

What if I forget a tablet?

How will I know it is helping?
You may not feel cholesterol changing. Keep ordered cholesterol tests and discuss the results with your clinician. Continue the prescribed treatment and diet plan rather than stopping when a result improves. MedlinePlus
Which side effects need a call?
Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness promptly, especially with fever, feeling very ill or dark urine. Yellow skin or eyes also needs prompt medical advice. What should my pharmacist check?
Share all prescriptions and supplements, including other cholesterol medicines, warfarin and antiviral treatments. Mention kidney or liver disease. Contact your prescriber promptly if pregnant or planning pregnancy; treatment usually needs to stop during pregnancy, with any exception decided by the prescriber.
