The real story behind this product

What chain pharmacies never explain.

Claritin launched in 1993. At the time, it was the only non-sedating antihistamine on the market, and Schering-Plough charged accordingly. Today, the exact same molecule (loratadine 10mg) is manufactured by multiple FDA approved facilities and sold at a fraction of the cost.

Chain pharmacies know this. They stock both the brand and the generic. But they place the Claritin box at eye level with its $18 price tag. The generic sits on the bottom shelf.

At Fairview, the generic is the shelf. We don't make more money selling you the brand name. We make loyal customers by making you feel smart.

Dr. Mike's clinical commentary
This is my first-line recommendation for seasonal allergies. The same loratadine 10mg as brand-name Claritin, at literally half the price. It's on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines for a reason. Non-drowsy, once-daily, safe for most people including pregnant women. I've been recommending it for years. If it works for you, there is no reason to ever buy the brand name again.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

How is this different from the brand name on the same shelf?

The generic products we carry contain the same FDA-approved active ingredient, in the same dosage form, at the same strength as the brand-name product. The FDA requires generic medicines to meet bioequivalence standards before approval. The main difference customers notice is the price, not the medicine.

How soon will my order ship?

Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from our pharmacy in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. You will receive a tracking number once your package leaves the pharmacy. Free shipping on orders over $50.

What is your return policy if it doesn't work for me?

Unopened products in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. For safety reasons, opened medications are not returnable. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.

Can I take this with my prescription medications?

Some OTC products interact with common prescriptions. We strongly recommend a free pharmacist consultation before ordering if you take blood pressure medication, blood thinners, thyroid medication, antidepressants, or other prescriptions. Call 601-544-4871 or use the Ask the Pharmacist form on the site.

Is this safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Some OTC products are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before ordering, please request a free pharmacist consultation. A pharmacist can confirm whether this product is appropriate for your situation.

One product is good. The kit is the protocol.

Dr. Mike doesn't hand patients single products. He hands them protocols. The Complete Allergy Relief Kit is the full version of what most people need. And it skips the $50 minimum.
