Why this still exists at Fairview.
Before Bactine, treating a child's scraped knee meant holding them down while they screamed as hydrogen peroxide foamed and burned. Parents dreaded the wound care almost as much as the child dreaded the injury.
Bactine changed that in 1947. Benzalkonium chloride antiseptic combined with lidocaine topical anesthetic in a no sting spray format. It disinfects without burning. The lidocaine numbs on contact. The spray means no painful rubbing. Children let parents treat their wounds.
It also became the go to for piercing aftercare. Bactine is the gentlest effective antiseptic for healing piercings without the tissue damage hydrogen peroxide causes.
Bactine is the product I recommend to every parent because it solves the real problem of pediatric wound care. The child will not let you treat the wound if it hurts. Benzalkonium chloride is a very effective antiseptic, and the lidocaine numbs on contact, so the child feels relief instead of pain, and the wound actually gets treated properly. For new piercings, twice daily with Bactine spray is clinically the right approach.

How soon will my order ship?

What is your return policy?
Unopened products in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. For safety reasons, opened products are not returnable. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.
Can I take this with my prescription medications?
