Every product on this page passed one test: would a pharmacist feel confident recommending it to family?
WHY THIS PAGE EXISTS
Chain pharmacies operate on national velocity metrics. If a product does not turn fast enough on a national shelf, it gets discontinued, regardless of community demand.
Every week, customers call Fairview and ask by name: do you still carry SSS Tonic? Can I get Ichthammol? My grandmother swore by Creomulsion, do you have it? These are not nostalgia purchases. These are people who know from experience, passed down through families across generations, that these formulas work for specific conditions in ways modern alternatives do not always replicate.
Mike Acheampong, PharmD evaluated every product in this collection. Each one meets current FDA safety standards. Each one has a clinically documented mechanism of action. Some have been in continuous use for over 150 years, not because of marketing budgets, but because they work.

Questions, answered.
Why can't I find these products at CVS or Walgreens anymore?
Chain pharmacies make inventory decisions based on national turn rates. If a product does not sell fast enough across thousands of stores, it gets discontinued, regardless of whether it works and regardless of community demand. Fairview's inventory is managed by a pharmacist who knows his customers. We keep what you ask for.
Are these old formulas actually safe?
Yes, with proper use and guidance. Every product in this collection meets current FDA safety and labeling requirements. Mike Acheampong, PharmD reviewed each one personally. Some products carry specific guidance: the alcohol content in Beef, Iron and Wine, the cycling protocols for Black and White Ointment, the productive versus dry cough distinction for Creomulsion. Those details are on each product page and our pharmacist is available to discuss them directly.
I've been using this product for 30 years. Do I need pharmacist guidance?
If you have been using a product safely for decades, you likely know it well. That said, if your prescription medications have changed, a 5 minute check in with Dr. Mike is worth it, particularly for iron containing tonics and any alcohol based products. It is free and quick.
Do these products interact with my prescription medications?
Some can. The iron containing tonics (SSS Tonic, Geritol, Beef Iron and Wine) interact with certain antibiotics and thyroid medications. Beef, Iron and Wine contains 18% alcohol, which interacts with many medications. Most topical products (Tiger Balm, BenGay, Bag Balm, Ichthammol) have minimal systemic interaction risk. When in doubt, call or chat with Dr. Mike before ordering.
Why is there a $50 order minimum on individual products?
Individual heritage items range from $7.99 to $18.99 and do not cover the cost of shipping and handling on their own. To qualify for free shipping, combine products to reach the $50 threshold. Most customers find 3 to 5 products they want and hit the threshold easily.
Can I use FSA or HSA for these products?
Most OTC products in this collection qualify for FSA or HSA reimbursement. Check your specific FSA or HSA guidelines or contact your plan administrator to confirm eligibility for each item.
Do you ship the full collection nationwide?
Yes. All heritage products ship to all 50 states within 1 to 2 business days. Free shipping on orders $50 or more. Same day local pickup is available at the Hattiesburg, Mississippi location.
What if you don't carry a heritage product I'm looking for?
Call or chat with us. Fairview helps customers locate hard to find heritage products every day. If a product can still be sourced from a licensed wholesaler, we can usually get it. If a product has been discontinued by its manufacturer entirely, we will tell you that honestly and recommend the closest available alternative.
