Pharmacist Curated Defense Kits
Skin and wound care is rarely one product. The kit is the protocol.
The most common mistake families make is buying products one at a time, then realizing at the moment of need that they're missing the one thing that would complete the treatment. Fairview Defense Kits give you everything for a specific scenario, pre selected by your pharmacist, at a price that makes buying separately feel like leaving money on the table. Kits also skip the $50 minimum.

WHY THIS PAGE EXISTS
Walk into any CVS or Walgreens and you'll find a wound care aisle that's 30 feet long with 200 products and zero guidance.
Every product looks the same. Every label says fast relief. And there's no one to tell you that hydrogen peroxide will slow your healing if you use it more than once, or that the 91% rubbing alcohol is actually less effective than the 70% version, or that the generic antifungal you're buying won't kill the fungus, it'll only pause it.
Knowledge is the product CVS can't put on a shelf. Every product on this page carries the pharmacist context that makes it work.

Questions, answered.
Should I use hydrogen peroxide on my wound every day?
No. Hydrogen peroxide is excellent for day one cleaning of contaminated wounds but harmful from day two onward. It cannot differentiate between bacteria and the fibroblasts your body is using to close the wound. Used repeatedly, it slows healing. The correct protocol is: day one peroxide on contaminated wounds, day two onward soap and water plus Neosporin and a bandage.
Is 70% rubbing alcohol really more effective than 91%?
Yes, for disinfection. The 91% concentration evaporates so fast it cannot achieve full bacterial protein denaturation. The 70% concentration has enough water content to slow evaporation, giving the alcohol time to fully kill bacteria. The CDC and WHO both specify 60 to 70% alcohol as the target concentration for effective disinfection. Counterintuitive but proven.
What's the difference between CeraVe and Eucerin?
CeraVe is a daily ceramide based moisturizer ideal for normal to moderately dry skin and for daily eczema maintenance. Eucerin is heavier and more occlusive, designed for severely dry, cracked, or compromised skin where CeraVe is not enough. Many patients use both. CeraVe daily, Eucerin overnight on the worst patches.
Can I use Benadryl cream and oral Benadryl at the same time for a bad reaction?
No. This is a critical rule most patients don't know. Diphenhydramine absorbed through the skin can add to oral dose levels, causing significant sedation and anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, urinary retention, rapid heartbeat). The risk is particularly high in children, elderly patients, and anyone who has taken oral Benadryl in the past 4 to 6 hours. Use one or the other, not both.
Why does my athlete's foot keep coming back?
Because you're treating your feet but not your shoes. Dermatophyte fungi live in footwear and reinfect treated skin. The complete antifungal protocol is: terbinafine cream twice daily for 1 to 2 weeks on the skin, antifungal powder daily in the shoes, hot water wash for socks, and continue the cream for one week after symptoms resolve. The Fungal Defense Kit packages all of this together.
Is dandruff caused by dry scalp?
No, and this is one of the most common dermatological misconceptions. Dandruff is caused by overgrowth of Malassezia, a yeast like fungus that lives on virtually every adult scalp. The fungus breaks down scalp sebum into oleic acid, which triggers an inflammatory response and accelerated skin cell turnover. Washing your hair more frequently or using moisturizing shampoos does not address the fungal cause. Selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue) directly suppresses Malassezia, which is why it works when regular shampoos don't.
Can I use hydrocortisone cream on my face?
Not without pharmacist guidance. Topical steroids cause skin thinning (atrophy) on thin skinned areas like the face, underarms, and groin much faster than on body skin. For face rashes, start with Benadryl cream or a non steroidal option, and call us before reaching for hydrocortisone. If you need stronger anti inflammatory action on the face, that's typically a prescription conversation.
Do your products ship nationwide?
Yes. Fairview ships to all 50 states. Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from our pharmacy in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Free shipping on orders $50 and above. Kit purchases skip the $50 minimum and ship at any size.
